Soil remediation from oil products

Using the EcoBioGumates for biological remediation of oil-contaminated areas

Given the ability of our EcoBioHumats to restore saline and polluted areas, create fertile soil and green lifeless deserts, we propose to restore polluted areas biologically by turning them into pastures with the simultaneous planting of a desert plot. In order to ensure normal growing conditions for plants, an irrigation system must be provided for these plots.
No chemicals are used in this technology. Thus, this technology makes it possible to obtain organic pastures with fertile soil without traces of oil.
Below is a detailed description of the technology for remediating a contaminated site and greening a desert site

At the first stage, the desert area allocated next to the planting, is divided into plots, in which sand is excavated to a depth of 30 cm (in the future this sand will be used to mix with humates).

An organic hydrophobic substrate of sapropel is laid on the bottom and side walls of these plots to create a 10 cm thick water trap, which will prevent the penetration of oil sludge into the depth and into adjacent areas. Later this layer will turn into a fertile soil due to microbiological activity by our technology.

At the third stage, oil sludge up to 10 centimeters deep is poured into the prepared plots

Our EcoBioHumates are brought to the remediation site, mixed with sand in a 1:40 ratio and poured over the areas with oil sludge. Former oil sludge storage sites are covered with the same technology. In this way, a fertile layer is created for growing various plants, such as special drought-resistant grasses.

After planting the plants and arranging the necessary irrigation, after about 1 month there is practically no oil sludge left in the soil. In 2-3 months, after the start of reclamation, all oil sludge is completely processed and transformed into a fertile layer, ready for further use for its intended purpose. Thus, the use of this technology will allow:• Liquidation of lakes with oil sludge;  • To make the oil-slime storage site greener;• To green an additional area of the desert.
